Kristen Jael Acosta is a San Francisco-based artist, anthropologist, and community worker, born and raised in the borderlands of El Paso, Texas and Juárez, Mexico.
Her art narrates our connection to the earth — exploring the grounding and healing properties of natural elements. Through her ceramics practice, she engages an active curiosity and deep respect for embodiment, and the way humans connect to cultural memory through art and relationship with the elements.
Each piece is intentionally crafted with reverence for the earth, drawing inspiration from her desert homelands. Through natural textures, tones, and materials, she seeks to bring the essence of the elements into every creation.
Kristen currently practices in community at Artillery AG Gallery in the Mission District of San Francisco, California.
